Art was found not by man, but by nature. Nature found the space in which it could and would create art. In nature the dot-the most fundamental element of art, came to be. Then when two such dots were joined a line was form; joining more dots created a curve. These lines and curves combined to form shapes and forms which we recognize easily. Then she colored these empty closed forms to give us diverse visual experiences. Further on, the sun gave its light to nature to provide 'chiaroscuro' (man uses this fancy Latin term to describe light and shade) which gave art the ability to manifest three dimensional space on paper and canvas, on wood, etc.
Along with these nature provided man with the implements to create art too. Thus he had paper (even rocks) to draw on; pigments to paint with; fur for brushes; clay for real space rendition of 3d objects like idols and pottery and stone to create statues.
Man learnt art by copying from life, in turn from nature. When he had mastered this aspect, he was free to continue and find his own artistic space. We may conclude here that if nature was not there before man, art would not exist as what is art, but a depiction of the closeness that man unconsciously feels towards nature.
It would be good to end this post with an advice; love nature, let nature survive. Because we are nothing without nature and art.
